Follow Fest

Name: Peggy Ann Craig

Fiction or nonfiction? Fiction

What genres do you write? Historical romance, westerns

Are you published? Yes, self-published.

Do you do anything in addition to writing?
Farm.

Tell us a little about yourself.
I am the fifth child in a family of six. I have 3 beautiful children.  I love photography and spend a lot of time behind my camera.  I have a serious pygmy goat addiction.  I love the great outdoors, the country, hiking in the woods, the Rocky Mountains, my dogs, and Dr. Pepper.  I hate the city and avoid it at all cost.  I'm a recluse but have no qualms with that.

What are you reading right now?

I've got lots of books on the go but the two I'm trying to plow through at the moment (not that they are hard reads because they are very good, just long) is Outlander by Diana Gabaldon and Mountain Wild by Judith Bronte.

Which authors influenced you the most?

I can't really say any one author influenced me.  Stories are what influences me.  Especially a well written one.  A lot of heart and emotion in a story goes a long way for me.

Do you have a newsletter?

No. But sure would love to figure out how to set one up.
(Updated:  I now have a newsletter!)

Is there anything else you’d like us to know?

I've been absent from the writing community for almost ten years now and the one I have returned to has changed so much that I feel lost but am trying to catch up.

  6. I'm coming to terms with the fact that I'm a bit of a recluse, as well. I just would rather be home writing! (Or on the beach writing with very few people around...)

  11. I'm glad we had a chance to connect and I enjoyed learning more about you. I live in a mostly dairy cow farm town, but there are quite a few goat farms hidden around as well. Goats are the best--and brilliant.

    1. LOL, another goat fan! Love it! It's probably a good thing I never got a cow because they are a little harder to collect!

  12. Hi Peggy! How are you getting on with Diana Gabaldon? I like to think I'll read the book alongside the TV show but it hasn't happened yet.

    1. The previews and social media coverage has me so excited to watch it, but have promised myself to read the book first. The rate I'm going, it may be out in DVD before I ever get around to it.

  14. What a lovely area to live in. I am into photography too. Not professional, but fun. And with digital cameras, I can delete the really bad photos! Yay for digital. The goats are our grandkids and my favorite part of the county fair. Adorable. Best wishes on your return to writing! Like riding a bike, I'd say. Get on her and go!

    1. The length is intimidating. I bought the book in pocket size paper back, but am thinking I may download the ebook vs. My eyes are having a hard time reading the small print.

  23. Hi Peggy! It's nice to meet you through Follow Fest. I thought about buying a pygmy goat once, but being in town, we didn't have enough acreage that the city requires. :( I made him a character instead. He's a god for a tribe of pygmies who is also a goat. He's not in print yet, but hopefully next year...
